The design of the Amplan Office Tower is driven by the ambition to create a standout landmark that enhances the architectural landscape of Amsterdam. This vision is reflected in its unique external appearance and the building's relationship with the nearby Amsterdam Passenger Terminal, establishing a visual and thematic dialogue that redefines the eastern dock area's skyline.

 

The design incorporates a bold orthogonal grid pattern on the façade, using a combination of clear, ceramic frit, translucent, and opaque white glass to highlight the building's geometry while providing a light-diffusing, monumental effect. This design choice not only symbolizes the regeneration of the district but also strategically positions the tower as a pivotal element between ongoing urban developments.
