The original master plan by H.P. Berlage in the early twentieth century has been thoughtfully extended to tackle contemporary urban challenges, ensuring that the WTC becomes an integral part of the city’s fabric.
This transformation is particularly visible in the WTC’s location at the core of Zuidas (South Axis), which was previously characterized by post-war office buildings disconnected from the wider city life.
Today, the area is rejuvenated with a 300-meter curved glass roof, offering a bright, energy-efficient space that houses shops, restaurants, and offices, making it a bustling hub connected to public transportation.
