Ateliers AVO in conjunction with SOTAstudio have secured the design for a Dutch railway station in Arnhem, called NS Arnhem-Velperpoort. Pro-rail is the client for this project and provides the project management, with DHV as the cost consultant.

Dutch railway station Arnhem – Velperpoort needs to be made better accessible for travellers both able and disabled as a result of an increased passengers flow at the station. On both the South and North side of the station the staircase leading up to the platform needs to be increased to double the size of the existing stair. Two new lifts are to be added on both sides. The existing station received a design award, designed by ir. R.M.J.A. Steenhuis.
By adding the wider stairs and lifts, the character of the stations architecture cannot be changed but only enhanced.
